So----I'm waitlisted at Cornell. I found out today, J Robert Lennon emailed me after I called the office to ask for an update on my status. I'm so (very very) low on the list that there's no chance I'll get in, but I just feel really really happy to have made the list at all, and it feels really good just to
know.

Congratulations!
On the list is on the list. Congrats!
Thanks you guys! : ) !
Hello. I've read on your blog that you got into U of Minnesota. Also, the waitlist at Cornell is nothing to sniff at either. =) I would like to know what your GRE scores were-- that is, if you don't mind telling. I was considering applying to both Minnesota & Cornell but am not sure because of my crappy GRE scores (530 verbal, and like 9th percentile in math). I would appreciate it.
Oh yeah-- also, I came across your bit on Tuscon/U of Arizona on P&W. Very handy advice (I'm definitely applying there). I laughed about the metal benches. That is definitely odd. At UNLV, where I'm sure the temps are just about as hot as U of A, most of the benches are made of stone/concrete (and the few metal benches are coated in a weird temp. resistant paint).
Hi LeavingLV, if you post an email address where I can reach you, I'll be glad to tell you my scores. (I don't know how much I think they really factor in, though.)
I've heard great things about UNLV, at least the MFA program, it sounds really interesting. And I've been in Vegas, it's definitely eyeballs-frying hot there, too. I don't know how it's possible to think that metal + heat = outdoor seating : )
Oh, yeah. I guess I forgot to leave an email address. Here it is: shinkle [at] unlv [dot] nevada [dot] edu.
